Mother of infertile for years gave birth to twins                 

On March 18, Hu Changhua, director of Gynecology and Obstetrics, received a woman named Li who was 37 weeks pregnant of full term. She is 30 who has been married for years but barren until they conceived twins through a test tube last year. Because of the epidemic, they didn’t go to the hospital to do pregnancy check-up during the first two months of due date.

Through news report, this couple learned that Hanyang Hospital has switched to “clean hospital” and has recovered specialist clinic on March 13, so they immediately registered with the specialist of obstetrics. Before they visit the hospital, Ms. Li and her families were checked temperature and then enter the office with expert name. Changhua Hu asked the questions of medical history and whether they had been in close contact with COVID-19 patients. After excluding COVID-19, the director ordered some corresponding examinations for her and then admitted her to hospital.

Hu Changhua introduced that the newborn needed family care, while in the epidemic, the hospital strictly limited that each pregnant woman could only be accompanied by one relative and must accept CT and routine blood tests. After excluding COVID-19, they’ll be admitted to ward care. But a pregnant woman with twins, like Ms. Li, should be accompanied by two relatives, both of whom needed Pulmonary CT and routine blood tests. The ward staff will issue accompany certificate to relatives only if they pass the examination. The certificate involves name, age and ID number information in detail and for personal use only. Two days later, Ms. Li gave birth to the fraternal twins smoothly and discharged from hospital healthily on March 25.

 

 

One-hour for elderly patient: From desperation to operation

At 10:30 p.m. on February 29, Ms. Wang, who was over seventy years old, had sudden consciousness disorder and hemiplegia and was sent to the hospital urgently.

After the patient arrived at the hospital, she completed the pre-operative examination of body temperature, CT and blood routine examination, as well as other relevant examination links to screening COVID-19 in only one hour through the green channel.

"Judging by various indicators, the patient is suffering from acute middle cerebral artery occlusion, and emergency operation for artery thrombectomy is imminent. At 11:30 that evening, the patient underwent endovascular intervention to open the vessel." Chao Hao, deputy director of Department of Neurology (I), said that Ms. Wang recovered well after the operation and has been discharged home.


Combined treatment for the patient with colon cancer

Free right colon, dissecting lymph nodes, cutting off colon...On March 21, Liu Shengxin, deputy chief physician of the Third People's Hospital, entered the operating room on the first day of his arrival in Hanyang Hospital to operate on a patient with right colon cancer. Intraoperatively, he opened the abdominal cavity for exploration, and the patient had ascites. The mass was located in the ascending colon and had leached the serosal layer.

With the cooperation of the medical team of Hanyang Hospital, the operation was carried out in a tense and orderly manner. When it was successfully completed, the doctors on the scene could not help but give a slight cheer. At present, the patient is recovering well after surgery and will be discharged in the near future.

Liu Shengxin is one of the ten doctors chosen by provincial and ministerial hospitals to support Hanyang Hospital. Hanyang Hospital was the first designated hospital for fever clinics. More than 100 medical staff in this hospital worked for more than 50 days. During these days, 527 COVID-19 patients were admitted and 247 were cured and discharged. Later, the hospital returned to the normal reception in a tightly packed manner, resulting in a shortage of medical staff. Through coordination, 10 doctors, including Liu Shengxin, came to Hanyang Hospital to help treat patients together.
